40th Anniversary Celebration and 2008 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Release Day

The crowd at Release Day 2012

Our 40th Anniversary celebration and Release Day for the 2008 Alexander Valley Cabernet has come and gone and what a way to cap off the end of an amazng journey spanning 40 years!  Many of us here at Silver Oak consider this year to be the best Release Day celebation ever!  Maybe it was the build-up of 40 years of winemaking, or the leftover excitement from the Tower Tour 2012, or the fact that our newly Released 2008 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is just tasting amazing, even if we do say so ourselves. But really, what made this Release Day special was YOU, our devoted Silver Oak fans.  Nearly 2500 of you travelled to the winery here in Oakville to celebrate along with us, with some of you travelling from the other side of the country, literally buying your plane ticket the night before, to make sure you could be here to celebrate along with us.  Some of you celebrated at home and sent in your photos and support via Twitter and Facebook.  We just wanted to take a moment to say that we are so humbled and grateful to all of you that have helped to make this year, and the 40 previous years, so special.  We feel lucky to be able to make the wine that we love, but feel even luckier that you all have gotten behind us and appreciated what we have done and will continue to do for the NEXT 40 years: make America's most iconic Cabernet Sauvignon!
