Pour Yourself A Glass of History
“We visited Silver Oak in 1999 for our 10th wedding anniversary, and are still celebrating 18 years later.”
We often hear from fans who have been enjoying Silver Oak Cabernet for a decade or more. Many of them – like Liz – had their first glass on a special occasion. Over the years, their enjoyment of Silver Oak becomes a tradition, something which marks the passage of time and celebrates the richness of life.
One of the ways we enjoy traditions and celebrations at Silver Oak is with library wines, older vintages that have been aged to perfection. Although all Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon is made to be drinkable upon release, over time the tannins smooth out, the fruit fades slightly, and the wine becomes more complex. Opening a bottle from a special vintage is a like a trip back in time, a reminder of how all things – both in life and in wine – get better with time.
“My favorite thing is to tell people open a bottle from a year that matters to them. It’s a special thing to think that this wine was made when I was having this life experience.”
–David R. Duncan, Chairman & CEO
