“It’s easy to see why Silver Oak remains so popular with the restaurant crowd. It’s made in a more restrained style than many other Napa Cabs. There’s plenty of berry and currant fruit as well as oak, but it’s accompanied by tobacco and herbs that give the wine an earthiness. What the wine lacks in dazzle it more than makes up for in elegance and subtlety. Should develop well for at least a decade.”

Twomey takes first place in the American Wine Society’s 2012 National Tasting Project
We’re so happy to announce that 2009 Twomey Russian River Valley Pinot Noir took first place in The American Wine Society’s National Tasting Project. The project gives American Wine Society chapters across the United States the opportunity to sample the same group of wines in a blind tasting. This year the varietal was Pinot Noir and 65 chapters, representing 1,482 tasters in 26 different states participated in the National Tasting Project. This represents the largest number of tasters in the event’s history!

“Made with a drop of Cabernet Franc, this Merlot is rich, smooth and bone dry. With modest alcohol, it brims with flavors of black and red currant, licorice, anise and white pepper, as well as a subtle touch of sweet, smoky new oak. The grapes come from the cool Soda Canyon area of Napa Valley, at the base of Atlas Peak.”
