Winter In Wine Country.
A common misconception is that the Summer or Fall Harvest are the best time to plan a visit to wine country, but might we suggest a little Winter wine getaway?
Here are a few reasons why Wine Country in Winter is a great time to visit:
The Restaurants and Tasting Rooms are…roomier!
Coming to the Napa and Sonoma Valleys during the Summer and Fall can make for a beautiful trip but you’re also competing for counter space with your fellow visitors. During the Winter months, you’re treated to a much more relaxed atmosphere and get to really spend time with your hosts and delve deeply into your favorite wines and wineries.
Had your eye on one of our local culinary hotspots that you’ve heard so much about? Well you’re in luck because reservations are easier to come by in the Winter season. And between the city of Napa, Yountville and St. Helena, there are more Michelin Stars per-capita than anywhere else in America, making the Winter a great time to visit and spend a little quality time with some of the world’s most famous Chefs at their flagship restaurants.
Now is the Winter of our...wine content?
Even as the leaves have fallen from the vines and the vineyards go dormant, Wine Country still boasts some serious beauty in the Winter months. With average temperatures in the 50’s, the Napa and Sonoma Valleys are very mild during the Winter months and perfect for walking, hiking, biking or simply enjoying your Tour sips outside.
But maybe you’d prefer it to be a little warmer…No problem!
Sure, you’ll miss out on the pool scene at the area’s resorts, but is there anything that sounds better than enjoying a nice glass of wine while soaking outside in a natural hot spring in crisp California Winter air? Just up the road from our Napa Valley winery is the quaint and beautiful town of Calistoga, home to a plethora of hot springs resorts. On your way there, swing by our Twomey Winery in Calistoga and pick up a bottle of our Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot to enjoy spa-side.
So whatever your Wine Country dream is, feel confident that it can be found at any time of the year here in the Napa and Sonoma Valleys.
